As part of Joint Systems, EWIS contributes to the acquisition and support of systems for electronic warfare, command and control, satellites, and guided weapons. About the Role: We are currently seeking a Systems & Software Engineer to support our Electromagnetic Warfare and Intelligence Systems (EWIS) branch working within our MMEW (Modernisation of Maritime Electromagnetic Warfare) project team. You will provide technical expertise to support Defence in the delivery of highly critical capability in support and executing Defence's mission to defend Australia and its national interests. In addition, you will assist in designing and implementing various complex technical solutions that will provide ADF personnel with leading Electromagnetic Warfare technology. Note: this role is to be based in Canberra though anyone that is willing to relocate is encouraged to apply Please note: Applicants are required to be Australian Citizens and hold a current or recently suspended NV1 AGSVA Security Clearance or higher. ITAR regulations apply and as such your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability. Some of the things you could be working on include: Develop and provide input into technical policies and plans related to the concept development and acquisition of future MMEW (Modernisation of Maritime Electromagnetic Warfare) Products, such as: Systems Engineering Management Plans (SEMP). Test and Evaluation Master Plans (TEMP). Countermeasure Development and Validation (CMD&V) Plans; and Software Management Plans (SMP). Statements of Work; and Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs). Prepare and/or review Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) plus Requests for Variance (RFVs) related to the Mission and Support Systems. Contribute to the development of ASDEFCON documents related to the acquisition of products including: Supporting both major and minor software rollouts across systems and sub-systems. Review and assess of contractor deliverables. Provide product knowledge and Subject Matter Expertise for the development of strategies and options across projects and products. Provide product knowledge and Subject Matter Expertise for the development and sustainment of products, including mission and support systems and test equipment such as round, payload, and launch sub-system level mission and support software. Provide engineering support across issues arising in in-service systems including technical investigation, fault finding and problem resolution; and What we would like from you: 5 years' experience working within Defence Systems & Software Engineering in a professional engineering organisation and/or government organisation. Degree qualified Engineering or related Engineering discipline with relevant post-graduate experience Excellent communications skills & interpersonal skills Extensive experience in working with and driving multi-functional teams.
