We are working with a key client of ours who are seeking a Senior Network Engineer to specialise in Cisco and Palo Alto, responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining the Organisations Network and Network Security platforms both in the Data Centres and in the Cloud. Some of your daily tasks will involve: Collaborate with stakeholders and technical leads to design and architect the network and network security platforms, leveraging automation and scalability to deliver self-serve and self-managed solutions; Develop and execute a comprehensive migration strategy to seamlessly move our existing systems and applications from on-premises to the cloud environment; Lead and guide the technical aspects of network and network security dependant projects, providing expertise, best practices and driving decisions to ensure successful implementation; Implement robust security measures and best practices to ensure data protection and compliance with industry standards; Establish and implement Network and Network Security policies, standards and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance; Monitor and optimise the Network and Network Security platforms to achieve high performance, availability and cost-effectiveness; Foster collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration of Network and Network Security solutions with other business processes and applications; Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to the Network and Network Security platforms and provide ongoing support; Train and mentor junior Network Engineers to grow skills within the team and increase the overall capacity of the organisation's Network and Network Security capability; Identify operational risks, track them in the Operational Risk Register and implement mitigant / control initiatives within agreed timeframes; Create comprehensive technical documentation for the Network and Network Security platforms including architecture, processes and configurations; and Participate in Major Incidents during critical outages to drive restoration of service and provide progress updates and work with vendor support process. What you will bring: extensive experience in Network Engineering and Network Security Engineering at a Senior Level; Successful track record of developing, implementing and managing Network and Network Security environments; Hands-on experience in designing and implementing Network and Network Security technical solutions; Experience working with and enhancing IT Service Management processes; Proficient at PowerShell scripting; Knowledge of best practice security principles with Network and Network Security platforms and the mechanisms for configuring systems in line with security policies and compliance experience; Demonstrated capability to work with projects and diverse stakeholder teams to develop Network and Network Security solutions designs; Demonstrated business acumen and the ability to rapidly understand a business domain and how technology supports its performance; Strong written and oral communication skills, including stakeholder, vendor and senior executive interaction; and Knowledge and experience with DevOps, Agile, Lean practices. Technical abilities: Layer 3 Routing Protocols such as BGP, RIP and EIGRP; Layer 2 and Layer 3 LAN switching configuration; QoS implementation and management; VLAN design and implementation; VPN design and implementation; IP traffic filtering; Intrusion Prevention Systems; Access Control Systems; Wireless networks and bridging; Offsite Data Centres; Security and Firewalls; and WAN acceleration technologies. There will also be the need to participate in an in-call roster. This role is paying a competitive salary with 2 days' work from home opportunity.
