SICE ANZ is currently embarking on exciting growth and we have a great opportunity for an enthusiastic, versatile and results-oriented Systems Engineer to join our ICT team in Sydney. This role will support the design and implementation of complex traffic monitoring and tunnel control systems, providing a mixture of installation, support as well as integration activity around Windows Server environments, VMWare, Linux, SAN and NAS. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: Installation, maintenance and architecture of Storage, servers, virtualisation, operating systems, databases, backup solutions and workstations. Cater to doing infrastructure coordination related to design and setup activities at different stages of a project. Monitor systems and identify performance issues proactively. Work within strict time frames and elevate incidents within defined timeframes. Test all changes to hardware, software and operating systems. Resolve issues and prepare status reviews and reports. Professionally represent the infrastructure team as a technical consultant on projects as required. Maintain the necessary project plans and documentation of all system builds and modifications. Interact and coordinate with vendors, suppliers, distributors and contract consultants. Requirements The preferred candidate will hold formal qualifications in Systems Engineering or Computer Science and a minimum of 3 years of experience in the design and implementation of VMware virtualised platforms, Windows Server 2019 and later, Storage infrastructures (SAN, NAS), RDBMS Microsoft SQL Server, Linux, Windows 10 and later versions. Other technical requirements include the following: Strong virtualisation experience using VMWare vSphere 7.0 and later (ESXi, vCenter, vMotion, HA, DRS, SRM) Solid knowledge and experience with Windows Server 2019-2022, Microsoft ADDS, GPO, DNS, DHCP, WSUS, File & Print and Microsoft Security Baseline Proven experience implementing security patches. Experience with Veritas Backup Exec and Veeam Backup & Replication Experience with desktop imaging and deployment solutions Knowledge of ITIL and industry best practices Experience with scripting languages; Powershell, PowerCLI, Script Runtime Service Good knowledge of with GitLab and Ansible Automation is also desirable.
