ABOUT THIS ROLE Our client is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic ILS Engineer to fulfill a dual role, engaging in both Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) and Technical Writing responsibilities contributing to the sustainment of a major Defence platform. You will be responsible for creating and managing technical documentation to meet project requirements in addition to adherence to established ILS procedures. This combination provides exposure to ILS aspects, allowing you to diversify your technical writing skills for effective problem-solving. You will play a vital role supporting maintenance, engineering changes, and logistics aspects and gain some great insights within the Engineering Change Process. The position is located at Garden Island. ABOUT THE COMPANY Our client is a world leader and specializes in the design and construction of naval vessels, including submarines, frigates, and aircraft carriers. They are known for providing comprehensive solutions in the naval and maritime industry, offering services such as ship repairs, maintenance, and life cycle support for Defence naval assets. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Modify and develop technical documents for ILS deliverables, including operation and maintenance instructions. Create and modify Work Instruction documents. Support the Engineering Team in delivering engineering changes. Develop and deliver ILS artifacts, including FMECA, LORA, RCM, TA, PMD, technical publications, training, and LSAR. Undertake spares analysis and support obsolescence management. Maintain support system ILS Management plans/processes. Conduct or support engineering system reviews as an ILS representative. Develop and deliver ILS artifacts related to Engineering Changes (ECs) using a Systems Engineering approach. Ensure compliance with State and Commonwealth WHSE Act and Regulations. SKILLS & EXPERINECE NEEDED Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV1. Tertiary qualifications in a mechanical or electrical discipline and/or ILS-related qualifications. Experience within a Defence Naval environment. Understanding of Systems Engineering, specifically the role of Logistics Engineering within it. Strong understanding of ILS processes/procedures. Previous experience with ILS products and contract deliverables. Knowledge of Naval Engineering Change Process and Naval systems. Familiarity with Defence technical document writing standards.
