About the OPPORTUNITY We have an exciting new opportunity for a Mechatronics Engineer to join our Red Ochre Autonomy and Sensors program based at our Melbourne office. Working across all aspects of system implementations and simulator integrations, the Mechatronics Engineer will have a strong background in robotics and sensor integration, with considerable knowledge in both physical and synthetic platforms. Integrate sensors, actuators, and control systems to enhance the functionality and performance of mechatronic systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyse requirements, design solutions, and implement projects. Utilize physical and synthetic platforms such as OmniVerse, Unity, and ROS/ROS2 for simulation, testing, and prototyping. Develop and optimize algorithms for sensor data processing, fusion, and interpretation. Conduct experiments, testing, and validation to ensure the reliability and robustness of mechatronic systems. Document design specifications, procedures, and results for knowledge sharing and future reference. Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends in robotics, mechatronics, and sensor integration. About YOU Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or related field. Proven experience in mechatronics engineering, robotics, or related roles. Strong knowledge of robotics principles, dynamics, and control systems. Experience with sensor integration, calibration, and data processing. Experience in using physical and synthetic platforms such as OmniVerse, Unity, and ROS/ROS2. Familiarity with programming languages such as C/C++, Python, or MATLAB. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
