Position Overview: As a Senior Platform Engineer, you will play a critical role in overseeing and managing our platforms, with a specific focus on Teradata, Alation, and vendor management. You will be responsible for maintaining the production platforms, incident management, problem management, and ensuring smooth operations. Additionally, you will lead the Teradata upgrade process and contribute to the development of our observability platform. Key Responsibilities: Serve as a Data Operations Engineer, ensuring the smooth functioning of production platforms. Manage and oversee incident management and problem management processes. Utilize Bash, Python, Perl, or other scripting languages for automation and platform maintenance tasks. Implement DevOps principles to streamline operations and enhance efficiency. Establish and enhance observability platforms, leveraging tools such as Lightstep or alternatives if ServiceNow is not available. Develop and configure dashboards for monitoring and observability purposes. Implement monitoring systems to track key metrics and ensure platform performance. Experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS and GCP, for platform deployment and management. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Master's degree preferred. Minimum of [X] years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl. Strong experience with platform management and operations, including incident and problem management. Familiarity with DevOps principles and practices.
