We are seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated Senior Process Engineer to join our dynamic Sydney team. The position offers the opportunity of an exciting and diverse range of design engineering experience in the process-oriented industries, working as part of a multidiscipline engineering design team to deliver projects through concept, FEED and detail engineering design phases including taking a lead role in a risk management team delivering structured hazard identification, risk assessments and evaluation of control measures across a network of fuel handling facilities for a major client. What You'll Do: Preparation of design and engineering deliverables including process data sheets, reports, process flow diagrams and P&IDs. Perform process engineering simulations and analyses to support project or process study objectives. Production of calculations required for the role that support design documentation. Facilitation of HAZOPs, Bowtie & LOPA studies for existing & new clients including pre & post workshop activities. Liaison with key stakeholders in client organisations to establish workshop objectives and obtain relevant process safety information to undertake workshops. Preparation/review of workshop reports to ensure they meet Ventia's & the client's technical competency expectations. Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers. Presentation of technical findings & recommendations at client review meetings. Travel to sites throughout Australia, as required. About You: A Bachelor of Chemical Engineering degree enabling full membership to Engineers Australia or IChemE. Technical experience is preferred in the hydrocarbon, gas or chemicals industry including relevant safety & risk experience, however not essential. Experience in hazard analysis and risk management processes, including facilitation of risk assessment studies such as HAZOP, Bowties & LOPA. Management skills in the planning, monitoring and control of study projects. Ability to bring rigour, traceability, and quality assurance of qualitative & quantitative risk-based studies. Strong report writing and verbal communication skills. Strong self-motivation, time management and organisational ability. Australian citizenship or Permanent Residency of Australia.
