The Project Located in the small suburb of Loxford in the Hunter Valley region of New South Wales, approximately three km north of the town of Kurri Kurri, and approximately 35 km west of Newcastle and 125 km north of Sydney. The Hunter Power Station Project will generate 660 megawatts via two heavy-duty open cycle gas turbines, and is anticipated to be fully operational by the end of December 2024. The Hunter Power Project A gas-fired power station at Kurri Kurri - will supplement Snowy Hydro's generation portfolio with dispatchable capacity underpinning when the needs of electricity consumers are highest. The power station will comprise two heavy-duty, open cycle gas turbines (OCGT) MHI M701 F Frame machine 330 MW each and are the latest and most efficient turbines. Join the HPP Commissioning Team team of a state significant infrastructure project Immediate commencement Site based role Roster 10 days on 4 days off FIFO The Role As the Mechanical Commissioning Engineer you are responsible for ensuring the Hunter Power Project is commissioned to deliver safe and reliable production according to the project requirements. Preparing project specific commissioning documentation using standard commissioning procedures . Carrying out all the mechanical pre-commissioning, operational and test activities at site. Assisting with optimising and tuning of control loops and systems. Verifying that the client supplied services are available at due time and of required quality. Carrying out all and controlling mechanical commissioning, operational and test activities at site. Advising the Commissioning Manager of any potential delay or additional costs . Ensuring commissioning documents are completed progressively as per the QA, CCMS and Contract requirements. Handing over of required commissioning documentation to the Commissioning Manager. Ensuring that a review is done prior to each major phase of commissioning to avoid safety or environmental incidents. Verifying the readiness for service of installed equipment, including plant trip checks. Maintaining good relationship with Client's representatives, inter-Company staff and sub-contractors on site. Providing basic field training of Client's staff during the commissioning process and reviewing their competence to operate the plant safely and properly. Completion of punch lists.
