Minara Resources has an opportunity for an experienced Geotechnical and Tailings Engineer Minara Resources is Australia's largest cobalt producer and a major world producer of nickel. The Role As a Geotechnical and Tailings Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in providing essential geotechnical support services. The primary responsibility is to mitigate geotechnical material hazards. Your expertise will contribute to the development and implementation of best practice geotechnical and tailings management systems, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and adherence to industry and Glencore Corporate standards. You will be responsible for: Lead compliance efforts for ground control, inrush, and outrush management programs. Develop and maintain geotechnical procedures, standards, and hazard management strategies. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support long-term planning through data collection, analysis and studies to support open pit mine and Tailings Facility development. Ensure the geotechnical soundness of tailings pillars, embankments, and water storage facilities. Contribute to the effective implementation and continual improvement of the Quality Management System. About You This role would suit a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field with proven experience in geotechnical engineering and tailings management. You will also have: Previous experience in an open pit mining environment; The ability to work autonomously and collaboratively; and Unrestricted Quarry Managers' Certification would be advantageous.
