The Opportunity The client’s Land Domain team is currently in search of an experienced Systems Safety Engineer to work within their Lethality Program Team in Melbourne. The Lethality Program is dedicated to ensuring that Australian Defence Force (ADF) dismounted combatants, working alongside a combined arms team, possess cutting-edge lethal and non-lethal systems that will significantly outmatch potential and emerging adversaries. This team is tasked with procuring and delivering the next generation of munitions and weapons systems to empower the Australian war-fighter enabling them to be able to effectively execute their missions. Responsibilities: In the role of Systems Safety Engineer within the Land Domain, your responsibilities will include strategising, identifying, documenting, addressing, and ultimately mitigating all hazards relevant to the project platforms. You will collaborate with a diverse engineering team and engage with various stakeholders at all levels, inclusive or our Prime contractor and the Commonwealth. What you will bring: Hold an active Baseline or Negative Vetting 1 (NV1) AGSVA Security Clearance (or higher) Tertiary Education in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, or a related discipline) Possess a relevant safety qualification (Grad Cert, WHS, or similar) Effective involvement with stakeholders at all levels, adept at relationship management and highly proficient in communication Proven track record in reviewing safety documents to help assist in the assessment of hazards and risks This role requires immediate access to ITAR information and is located at Victoria Barracks (Melbourne) The client is an equal opportunity employer and are dedicated to providing an inclusive and diverse working environment.
