Northrop Grumman Australia partners with the Royal Australian Air Force to provide through-life support for its fleet of C-27J Spartan Battlefield Airlifter aircraft. The C-27J complements the Australian Defence Force's existing Air Mobility fleet and provides airlift of people, equipment and supplies in Australia and our region. The C-27J engineering team is now seeking a highly motivated and professional, degree-qualified Mechanical/Structures Engineer to join the C-27J Integrated Support Cell (ISC) embedded with 35 Squadron Headquarters; RAAF Base Amberley, QLD. Your Role: As a key member of our engineering team, you will lead in mechanical and structural design, bolstered by specialised technical support services. Your role involves working within the DASR Part 21J regulatory design framework, where you're tasked with creating engineering substantiation reports, compliance documents, test plans, and design data. Moreover, you'll conduct comprehensive technical investigations and provide support to the Continuing Airworthiness Management Services (CAM Services) as necessary. About You: As a dynamic member of the C-27J Engineering team, your role is multifaceted, blending technical investigations, structural design, and key technical support for the C27J Through Life Support contract. You'll be immersed in DASR Part 21J regulatory design tasks and assist the Continuing Airworthiness Management Services team. Your expertise will be crucial in diagnosing and designing solutions for structural and mechanical system issues, conducting stress analysis, and ensuring compliance with engineering standards. Collaborating effectively within a team, you'll contribute to the continuous advancement of the C27J project, staying engaged in professional development and effectively communicating within a distributed working environment. Your background includes a Bachelor of Engineering (Aeronautical/Mechanical) or equivalent, recognised by Engineers Australia, with eligibility for RPEQ registration and the capability to secure a Defence Security Clearance.
