Wood has a requirement for a Graduate Subsea Pipeline Engineer to join our Consulting team in Melbourne as part of our 2024 intake. To be considered you should have completed your Mechanical, Structural or equivalent Engineeringdegree by the end of 2024 or earlier. The Graduate Subsea Pipeline Engineer will join the Technical Consulting team focusing on Energy Security and Energy Transition pipeline projects within Wood's Consulting Division. The role sits in our Subsea & Export Systems team. The team specialises in both subsea and onshore pipelines engineering, providing engineering consultant services across multiple projects and employs technical expertise in the areas of project management, flow assurance, pipelines, and facilities engineering. We are looking for a dynamic, digital and tech savvy individual who is resilient, versatile and seeking a role within a fast-paced environment. We welcome new members of the team who will add value and assist the wider team of engineers and project leads in delivering scopes on allocated projects. What we look for in these roles: Completed your Mechanical / Structural Engineering or equivalent degree by the end of 2024 or earlier Strong IT, software and data interrogation skills - Coding experience (Python, VBA, others) and Machine Learning skills are advantageous MS Power App, Power BI experience are advantageous Familiarity with FiniteElements Analysis (FEA) is advantageous Demonstrated effective technical report writing skills Keen interest in resolving technical ambiguity, troubleshooting and problem resolution Attention to detail: You will be responsible for creating detailed designs and specifications and must pay close attention to detail to ensure the accuracy and safety of the work Teamwork: Most engineering projects require collaboration and teamwork, so strong interpersonal and collaboration skills are essential Adaptability: Engineering is a constantly evolving field, and as a Graduate engineer you should be able to adapt to new technologies and techniques Problem solving: Engineering often requires finding creative solutions to complex problems. Good critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills are highly valued Communication skills: The ability to communicate technical information in a clear and concise manner is important for a Graduate engineer. This includes the ability to write reports, give presentations, and explain complex technical concepts to non-technical colleagues Continuous Learning: Technologies and methodologies are constantly changing so staying up to date is an important attribute Creativity: have that innate ability to "think outside the box" Analytical ability: ability to think analytically to fully define a problem and develop solutions suited to the problem Logical thinking: ability to understand how a system works, what can go wrong and how to fix it.
