We're seeking an individual to join our team for an initial contract period of 4 to 6 months, supporting our efforts as we gear up for increased activity associated with upcoming projects. In this pivotal role, you'll be tasked with overseeing Linux-based projects, including system deployments, configuration management, and optimization. Additionally, you'll play a key role in supporting bid management activities, collaborating closely with the Senior Engineer in their development and coordination. We're looking for a seasoned professional with a broad range of experience in Linux administration, system architecture, scripting, and more. This individual will have the support of a team, including a Senior Engineer and a Junior Engineer. Responsibilities: Lead Linux-based projects, ensuring successful execution and delivery. Manage system configurations, optimizations, and troubleshooting efforts. Monitor project budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and profitability. Coordinate resources, including project staff and external vendors. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project success. Assist in managing the bid process, providing technical expertise and support. Requirements: Relevant tertiary qualifications or certifications. Minimum of 5 years' experience in Linux administration, ideally in a dynamic environment. Experience with bid management preferred. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high standards. NV1 Clearance Technical Skills: Proficiency in Linux administration and server management. Experience with configuration management tools such as Puppet or Ansible. Strong scripting skills, particularly in Bash and Python. Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware or KVM.
