Senior Electronics Engineer — The Hill, Newcastle Area
Expired

Winner of several Good Design Awards (both locally and globally) Highly functional products that are aesthetically pleasing with a high quality of design Full life cycle design of wireless, compact low power electronics Are you an Electrical Engineer tired of red tape and bureaucracy? Or maybe your work demands long hours but offers little in the way of reward or gratitude? You can change that here. We’re looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer with skills in both hardware design and firmware / embedded software development to work on a variety of products that cover a range of industries (e.g. IoT for agricultural, autonomous vehicle tech, payment kiosks, liquid cooling systems for data centres and battery storage systems). Not only do their products work, they’re visual masterpieces. It’s a well established design house that’s won several Good Design Awards and they are led by a founder whose focus is on fostering a calm, innovative, more productive and healthier environment. He knows what it means for his team to not get burned out and has put in place a more productive environment so team members can enjoy a better work-life balance. Senior Engineers will earn in the region of $160-180k super, with the addition of generous, performance-related bonuses. Would this be a more rewarding environment to work in? The team is mid-sized, but still growing due to a strong pipeline of projects. You’d be an important hire to helping them bring a number of great ideas to market. You don’t need to come from a safety-critical background (e.g. medical devices, diagnostic devices, defence, mining), but if you’ve worked on safety critical electronic design it would be advantageous. What they’re ultimately looking for is someone who can take high-level ideas from customers and turn them into real working engineering designs. You’ll do well here if you enjoy working in a fast moving product development environment that encourages innovation. You’ll collaborate closely with Industrial Designers, Software and Mechanical Engineers to build great products. It means focusing on a few key areas like electronics architecture, power management, wireless communication, and PCBA design. This is a Senior role, but we’re happy to consider anyone with 7 or more years’ experience. HQ is in Newcastle and it’s a great opportunity to relocate from Sydney’s hustle and bustle and enjoy the beautiful outdoors lifestyle and emerging cosmopolitan scene that Newcastle can offer. So, do either of these apply to you? You’re a versatile Electrical Engineer with skills in both embedded software development and hardware design that wants full life cycle design of a complex and exciting new product. You’re an Electrical Engineer with a family, in search of a less stressful and more flexible environment that will allow you to enjoy spending time with that family. If you fall into one, or both of these categories, let’s have a chat.
