Roster: Monday to Friday Energy Operations is looking to expand the Electrical and Control systems engineering team, with an experienced Control Systems Engineer to assist with day-to-day operational and project support activities related to the Fortescue power generation and transmission systems. As Fortescue expands the reach of its power generation and transmission network, technical support from a remote based engineering team is essential to ensure the reliability and security of Fortescue's power system. Key Responsibilities Above all else, follow the Fortescue values when conducting oneself at work. Present well, be punctual and work harmoniously in a high functioning team of like individuals. Willingness to learn new things, share and preserve learnings and knowledge with the team. Power system operational control room support from an automation, SCADA and power management system standpoint. Assisting site-based personnel with fault finding, troubleshooting and system access. Liasing with personnel from various sites to coordinate and help facilitate the rollout of work. Investigate faults and making improvements to various electrical control and automation systems for increased reliability and better performance. Be comfortable with performing changes to a large variety of automation, control systems and electrical protection devices. Ability to effectively assess risks and apply mitigation controls to all work to unnecessary risks associated with both project and day to day activities. Willingness to occasionally travel to various sites, as and when required by the task. Qualifications and Experience Bachelor's degree in electrical or control systems discipline is strongly preferable. Experience with industrial automation and control systems; an understanding of general automation systems, automation and communication system architectures and working principles is essential. Experience with a variety of communication systems and protocols. Preferably DNP3, IEC61850, IEC60870-104 as an extension to the expectation of prior application of legacy communication protocols. Interpreting, modifying and writing logic in controllers, protection relays, RTU's and a large variety of control equipment. Experience working in a power systems industry and/or being exposed to power system nomenclature is preferable. Experience working with virtual server environments. Experience in developing technical documentation and understanding electrical drawings.
