Our Opportunity Work Location: Eliwana Roster: The role is offered on an 8/6 FIFO roster with flights from Perth or Busselton. We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate Geotechnical Engineer to join the Eliwana Operations Planning team. Reporting to the senior Geotechnical Engineer, the position will provide expert technical guidance in ground control operational management strategies, monitoring system design, implementation, Maintenance, analysis and reporting. This role will see you through implementing best practice design in alignment with internal and regulatory frameworks. The role will operate across a range of mine planning and development horizons. Key Responsibilities Regular review, inspect and communicate any Geotechnical hazards to relevant teams and monitor all work activities, plan area to comply with regulations. Development, implementation, and management of ground control standards for open pit slopes and waste rock dumps; support both internal and external audits. Maintain and report Geotechnical monitoring database with regular alarm review. Hands-on experience on prisms, piezometers, and Radar usage. Geotechnical rockmass mapping and structural model reconciliation and reporting. Design performance review and compliance reporting. Slope stability modelling, operational design review, assessment, and reporting. Qualifications and Experience A degree or an equivalent tertiary qualification in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering/ Engineering Geology or similar is preferred. Previous operational geotechnical experience preferably open pit is desirable. Strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork. Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively. Previous experience with geotechnical modelling and mining software packages (Rocscience, GEM4D, Vulcan, ArcMap) would be an advantage. Excellent problem solving and communication skills. Strong data management and manipulation skills (PowerBI, Microsoft suits). Knowledge of mine planning and drill&blast process is advantage. Current manual C class driver licence.
