Duration : Project for 6 months with option to extend (first project with 2nd project likely to follow). Position Summary: Our client is an Australian public company headquartered in Brisbane. Their patented metal-ion-based technology is applied to improve the performance of next-generation lithium-ion batteries and in the development of diagnostic solutions in Life Sciences. They are Seeking a skilled Project Engineer for a fixed-term contract to manage facility fit-out design and construction, equipment sourcing, and process engineering. Bring your expertise in project management, contractor oversight, and WHS compliance to drive success in battery manufacturing projects. Scope of Work: • Develop facility fit out requirements/specification • Prepare Request for Tender Documents (with commercial support as required) • Tender evaluation and Contractor selection (eg 2 quotes minimum) • Contract negotiation (with commercial support as required) • Management of Contractor (and other subcontractors as required) • Stakeholder management eg building owner and consultants as required • Project management of facility fit out end to end (via Contractor) including: - Design review and approvals (including external approvals eg building approval via Contractor) - Construction phase and final build approvals/certification (as required) - Budget (eg variations) and schedule management Process/Project Engineering: • Optimise facility layout & process flow (input into design) • Source/develop standard operating procedures (eg process/operations/maintenance documentation) • Support startup and troubleshooting as required • Ensure compliance with Workplace Health Safety (WHS) • Engage with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with Quality systems Skills: • 10-15 years’ experience minimum – mechanical/chemical/process engineer or similar • Project management experience in similar projects eg pilot plants/lab facility & equipment setup • Experience managing contractors and suppliers • Experience working in compliance with WHS systems/processes (eg risk assessments etc) • Experience in battery manufacturing and testing desirable If you think this could be the role for you then please apply now At Fuse, we specialise in recruitment for the manufacturing industry and actively source a variety of roles for a broad range of manufacturers.
