The Project Engineer is part of the program delivery wastewater treatment project team, providing technical assurance and input across water and wastewater treatment facilities in the western region. In this role you will also assist stakeholders and partners in defining their requirements for water or wastewater network projects and ensure that these requirements are accurately reflected in the installed technology, therefore it is essential that you provide input into processes and systems improvements to support and improve operational performance, business efficiency, risk management, staff work environment, and user experience. The role of a Project Engineer pivots around the provision of technical and delivery excellence to the project team in wastewater treatment related projects. A Project Engineer requires a broad understanding of how relationships with stakeholders form a key part of the overall program of works. Specifically, a Project Engineer: Responsibilities: Provide general engineering and construction expertise to delivery internal stakeholders, delivery partners to resolve any emerging issues. Manage and perform technical activities associated with the scoping and delivery of projects. Ensure engineering and quality project deliverables are provided in accordance with business quality management system and compliant with standards and specifications. Hands on participation in project delivery lifecycle (workshops, Functional Design Specifications, design reviews, acceptance audits, quality assurance, commissioning, handover) Reporting, scheduling and co-ordinating resources and activities for wastewater treatment facilities Projects Proactively identifies key drivers that will enable the success of projects and programs of work and ensures delivery of a technically and commercially acceptable outcome Provides the overall guidance for a project / program’s needs in relation to all required engineering standards, specifications, and risks Owns the technical design scope and decision-making process throughout the life of a project, from initiation to commissioning and handover of completed project assets Delivers agreed project and documentation outcomes in unison with stakeholders using clear and concise language and other strong communication skill sets Delivers agreed project and documentation outcomes in unison with stakeholders using clear and concise language and other strong communication skill sets Owns the technical design scope and decision-making process throughout the life of a project, from initiation to commissioning and handover of completed project assets Experience and Qualifications: As a Project Engineer you will be required to demonstrate the ability and experience in translating complex client requirements into technical engineering solutions, and providing technical information for business cases, it is also important that you have the following: Tertiary qualification in Engineering and 5 year demonstrated experience in delivery of water and wastewater network assets. Thorough knowledge and proven experience in water and wastewater network assets relating to Sydney Water’s provision of total service to customers. Demonstrated practical experience in the evaluation, installation & maintenance of water and wastewater network assets. Demonstrated ability to maintain effective relationships between the Project Team, Customers, Product Delivery Partners and Service Providers. Demonstrated experience in leading the planning and delivery of the engineering aspects of medium risk/complexity projects. Current Drivers Licence You must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident at the time of submitting your application to be considered for this role.
