About the OPPORTUNITY We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our ASC Shipbuilding Business Unit based at Osborne, South Australia. As an Electrical Engineer, reporting into the team lead, you will join a well-established team on the Hunter Class Project and be responsible for the design, development and integration of electrical equipment and systems in accordance with contractual and company requirements. Key responsibilities include (however not limited to): Develop simple electrical equipment detailed designs to meet established electrical design standards Undertake electrical design analysis to determine the strengths and weaknesses of a number of candidate solutions Translate the electrical equipment design into a manufacturable solution and incorporate changes as required Support electrical equipment manufacture to ensure realisation and participate in production readiness reviews Support electrical equipment integration and validation to ensure the design meets its requirements Support electrical equipment qualification activities to ensure the product meets all requirements including safety and regulatory requirements About YOU Tertiary Qualifications in Electrical and Electronic Engineering Background in defence / maritime practices highly desired Experience developing simple electronic/ electrical equipment designs, participation in design reviews, undertaking typical design analyses and implementation of electrical solutions, its integration, validation and qualification testing Experience in some of the following technologies: Design analysis techniques, development tools, etc.; Power generation, Power distribution, Design documentation, Circuit Protection, Earthing systems, Control circuit design, Electrical Industry standards, Lighting systems Function confidently within a project team environment with strong written and verbal communication skills Self-motivation with a proactive approach to problem solving Ability to obtain and maintain relevant Defence Clearances We believe in hiring for potential, we know that some candidate hesitate if they don't tick all the boxes.
