Platform Engineer Media Asset Management — Surry Hills, Sydney

What's the role? NewsCorp is evolving as a publisher, adding video and audio content to our strong print and digital publishing channels. To support our rapid growth in video publishing, we are implementing a suite of video production platforms including Media Asset Management. Reporting to the Platform Manager - Digital Asset Management, the Platform Engineer is responsible for the operation and maintenance of Asset Management platforms, working as part of a team across several adjacent platforms. You will initially be working on a project involving: Deployment and configuration of the Mimir media asset management platform; Creating video and audio workflows; Developing operations procedures and related documentation. Longer term the role will evolve with the organisation's growing needs as they relate to digital asset production and management. As the Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for maintenance of existing configurations and the creation of new customer solutions from inception to delivery. You will initially be working in AWS. Other technologies like machine learning may be added on a project by project basis. We will give you the resources and autonomy you need to get the job done. The right person for the role will engage collaboratively to build close working relationships and bring their experience to improve the delivery flow within and across teams. Skills and experience Highly Desirable Experience operating asset management platforms (MAM/DAM/PAM) Experience with video and audio - preferably at scale Practical experience with digital asset lifecycle management Experience with content metadata management - entity extraction, sentiment analysis, classification Creating and maintaining accessible technical documentation Outstanding problem solving skills Excellent verbal communication, and documentation skills Experienced in reporting Advantageous: Experience with Digital Rights Management and Copyright Experience implementing asset management platforms (MAM/DAM/PAM) Amazon Cloud/ AWS framework Experience working with SaaS based platforms Experienced in writing and executing SQL queries News Benefits News Benefits is our way of saying thank you to our people for their valued contribution to News, our audiences, clients and communities.
