Wood is recruiting for a Lead Electrical Engineer to join our Minerals & Metals business based in Perth, Western Australia. This is a permanent role and available on a full-time / part-time basis. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will balance technical, team, client, and project leadership and thrive on the challenge of: Working across a range of engineering projects at any phase including: - concept identification, selection and definition, FEED, detailed design/execute, construction and commissioning. Setting clear technical direction for any assigned direct reports on your project. Representing the Electrical discipline in design reviews, peer review, HAZOP, HazID, and have capability to facilitate such reviews. Your dual focus on relationships and delivery will be essential. Anticipating client needs beyond the immediate scope, you will drive technical excellence and assurance on the Electrical engineering portion, while enabling the ongoing growth and development of your team. You will also work in close partnership with other disciplines and the client to enable robust technical decisions that ultimately add value to the client's project. You will be an Australian citizen or hold Permanent Residency (PR) to work lawfully in Australia. If you have a visa application in progress, you are also encouraged to apply. Suitably qualified in Electrical Engineering from a recognised institution, ideally you will have 15 years of relevant design engineering experience within the mining industry. Chartership, Professional Engineer (PE) status or equivalent relevant professional license/registration from a recognised national or industry engineering institution would also be highly regarded. In addition, you will: Be a leader of people with several years of supervisory experience, capable of engendering an entrepreneurial spirit of cooperation and energising diverse teams to adopt best practice, driving optimal performance with safety at the heart of everything we do. Have knowledge of advanced principles and techniques of engineering, with experience delivering within a challenging and complex multi-discipline environment. Have a professional level of knowledge of relevant regulatory framework and legislation with an ability to apply relevant technical practices, codes, and standards. Be commercially astute with a "solutions mindset", skilled in the management of risk during the design process consistent with safety, technical and commercial requirements. Be an articulate communicator (both written and verbal) including well-developed technical report writing and professional presentation skills. Have excellent knowledge of MS Office applications, spreadsheets, and commercial engineering programs. Be customer focused with an ability to develop trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders, while balancing operational excellence to contribute to the competitive advantage of teamwood.
