Key Responsibilities: Utilise engineering expertise to define HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) systems for residential and commercial applications, determining the most efficient layouts for ductwork, optimizing airflow, and ensuring structural integrity. Select appropriate HVAC equipment such as central air conditioners, heat pumps, furnace systems, ductless split system units, or a combination of these, depending on several factors. Assess spaces for complex installations, evaluating the size of the area, existing ductwork, electrical connections, and any specific requirements. Develop a detailed plan outlining tasks, required materials, labour resources, and timelines, considering factors such as building permits, zoning regulations, and any special considerations. Plan and coordinate the installation and repair of specialized units such as high-velocity heat pumps and geothermal systems. Utilise engineering principles to conduct risk assessment and implement safety measures to mitigate hazards associated with air conditioning installation and operation. Oversee the installation of HVAC systems, ensuring they meet design specifications, adhere to building codes, safety regulations, and stay within budget and timeline constraints. Oversee the testing and calibration of equipment, and conduct on-site inspections and quality checks to verify systems functionality and troubleshoot any issues that may arise. Monitor the operation and maintenance of mechanical and electrical components used in equipment to ensure effectiveness, efficiency, and safety. Document all requirements including drafting specifications, system installation plans and as required modifications necessary to ensure required outcome is achieved. Prepare reports on project progress, including cost estimates, timelines, and performance metrics. Participate in trainings, presentations, and quality programs, always aiming at improving knowledge and/or specialisation in subjects inherent to the business, industry or role being carried out, for the continual improvement of processes and professional and personal development. Qualifications A tertiary degree level qualification in Engineering or other comparable and relevant field Three years of relevant work experience. Strong ability to identify, analyse, and solve problems. Excellent time management skills. Project management skills. Salary: The role offers a remuneration package ranging from $70,000 - $80,000; plus superannuation for a 38-hour work week.
