Hail Creek Mine is a large scale open cut coal mine located roughly 120 kilometres south-west of Mackay in the northern Bowen Basin mining region of central Queensland. With a long mine life of 20 years producing primarily metallurgical coal products, Hail Creek is an inclusive workplace with a focus on safety, efficiency and productivity. We are seeking a passionate Mining Engineer to join our Technical Services Team. About the Role As a successful candidate, you will be responsible for delivering plans, designs and schedules to ensure that the operation's longer-term visions can be realised. Depending on the candidates' strengths and desired career path, this will be within the Medium-Term or Short-Term planning team on site. In a Medium-Term space, you and your team will have the opportunity to refine and optimise the current mine plan all the way from conceptual stages through to implementation, as well as gain exposure to the longer-term Budget and Life of Mine planning processes. In a Short-Term space, you will have the opportunity to plan for an entire pit including scheduling, developing dig, dump, infrastructure and reshape designs while working closely with operations to ensure their execution. Working closely within a range of teams (Drill & Blast, Truck & Shovel, Dragline, Rehabilitation & Services), you will collaborate to execute the mine plans.
