Roster: Monday to Friday Reporting to the Lead Geotechnical Engineer - Studies, we are seeking the talents of an enthusiastic and high performing Geotechnical Engineer to join our team and help deliver open pit mining projects from scoping through to execution. This is a Perth based role where you will provide geotechnical recommendations to mine planning and study teams, and ensure geotechnical residual risks are communicated for management during implementation. In this position, you will draw upon your experience with mining operations, geotechnical data collection, rock mass characterization, and slope stability analysis, to deliver value adding solutions to open pit, waste rock landform and associated infrastructure design. Key Responsibilities Provide recommendations for the appropriate collection of geotechnical data reflecting the level of study. Derive material parameters from drilling and laboratory data for input into geotechnical models. Assess geological, hydrogeological, and structural information to formulate a geotechnical model. Use stability analysis methods to prepare geotechnical design recommendations. Provide technical advice and consultation with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. Communicate residual geotechnical risks to the business for management of risk. Engage with external consultants to ensure that fit for purpose design recommendations are made to industry standards. Irregular site travel to support geotechnical design work across our operations (including international travel up to 2 weeks). Qualifications and Experience A tertiary qualification in Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering geology, Civil Engineering, or similar. Experience in open pit slope stability modelling and analysis. Experience in geotechnical data collection and laboratory testing Knowledge of mine planning processes. Excellent communication and report writing skills, with a demonstrated experience of communicating to a variety of stakeholders. Competent use of Vulcan and the Rocscience suite of software. Strong data management and manipulation skills. Strong team skills.
