Role Overview: As a Principal Water Resource Engineer at WSP, you will hold a strategic leadership position, enhancing the capabilities and reputation of our Geo-Environment team. This role focuses on leading and influencing major projects in civil, infrastructure, renewable energy, and mining sectors, with a particular emphasis on water resources management, flood resilience, and climate change adaptation. Location: Preferably Sydney, Australia; other locations considered for the right candidate. Responsibilities: Spearhead the development and delivery of innovative and sustainable surface water management solutions. Lead complex projects in geo-environmental engineering, focusing on surface water assessments and designs to support various sectors across Australia and internationally. Take a central role in developing high-level technical documents and environmental assessments for projects, driving technical quality and innovation. Oversee technical project delivery, ensuring effective risk management and maintaining the highest quality standards. Provide mentorship and guidance to a team of engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and shared project responsibilities. Establish and maintain a track record and reputation of achievement, particularly in flood and drainage design projects, leveraging the latest innovations and technologies. Qualifications and Skills: Hold a master's or equivalent advanced degree in Civil or Civil/Environmental Engineering, complemented by a postgraduate qualification in water resource management. Possess professional accreditation such as CPEng and RPEQ (or equivalent). Extensive experience in water resource engineering, with a proven track record in leading projects through all stages of the lifecycle. Proficiency in hydrology and hydraulic modeling software such as RORB, XP-RAFTS, TUFLOW, and GIS programs. Demonstrated leadership skills and a proven ability to mentor and develop engineers at all levels.
