SQL DBA(Database and Application) Engineer — Liberty Grove, Canada Bay Area

What success looks like in this role: SUMMARY: Unique opportunity for an Experienced SQL Database and Application Engineer within the Financial Services Industry where you will be required to have Strong SQL Platform operational experience as well as strong experience with SSIS packages, stored procedures and business data flows. Manage the SQL databases, SSIS and other data packages, ensure robust proactive monitoring and alerting is in place. Review and enhance existing SSIS packages, stored procedures and functions. Build new SSIS packages to meet business requirements. Responsible to perform ongoing regular SQL platform maintenance include Security patching, backups, cluster administration, log shipping. Proactively monitor the SQL Platform, tune and enhance. Troubleshooting failed SQL processes and procedures, remediation of any data issues and engagement with 3rd Parties where required. Analyze existing queries and identify performance improvement opportunities. Develop SQL Platform configuration standards. Perform and enhance SQL Platform Disaster Recovery testing and validation procedures. Respond to incidents & requests promptly and resolve within SLA. Proactively contribute to innovation and automation thereby improving the business value and quality of the IT platform overall. Perform RCA of incidents and work towards permanent resolution. Ensure technical documentation is updated and maintained to a high standard for all databases and applications in confluence. Develop and maintain relations with key internal and external stakeholders. Completion of allocated project work within agreed timeframes. Development of high-quality database solutions that are secure, efficient and resilient. Perform application deployment releases into UAT and Production environments. LI-AS1 You will be successful in this role if you have: 10 years' experience working in a similar role preferably within financial services industry. Proven experience proactively enhancing database platform stability, security and automation capabilities. Strong technical and troubleshooting skills in Microsoft SQL from 2008 to 2022, SSRS, SSIS. Proven experience in stored procedure development. Extensive experience with ETL data flows and data normalisation procedures Extensive experience with managing business data flows in complex financial systems Monitoring and improving SQL Query performance optimisation, indexing and performance monitoring. Proven experience with DR exercises for SQL Platforms. Developing SQL scripts, programs, databases.
