The key duties of the position include The Role This is a unique opportunity to apply your systems engineering (SE) experience to the Collins Class Submarine (CCSM) Life of Type Extension (LOTE) Project, a project of national significance. As a LOTE APS 6 Systems Engineer, you are responsible to the EL 1 Systems Engineering Manager to assist in managing the LOTE SE Program. You will have experience and knowledge of systems engineering (SE) in relation to: Requirements definition and management Architecture definition Trade-studies Technical reviews Interface definition and management Integration Verification and Validation SE standards and documentation. The LOTE APS 6 Systems Engineer is responsible for supporting the review of Industry technical documentation as part of the Commonwealth's assurance activities and will have extensive stakeholder engagement. You will be required to identify, anticipate and respond to stakeholders' needs and expectations, and be required to provide systems engineering subject matter expertise to both the Commonwealth and Industry. This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP). This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Agreement (DEA), for positions in occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability. About our Team The Collins Submarine Program within the National Shipbuilding Sustainment Group (NSSG) is responsible for the maintenance and programmed upgrade of Australia's Collins Class submarines. The Program works in partnership with the Royal Australian Navy and Industry to deliver the strategic submarine capability to the nation.
