We’re always looking for better ways to deliver for our customers – and for our people. About the role: Origin Energy is seeking a skilled Solution Engineer to join our Trading & Ops team. Reporting to the Manager, Operational Modelling and Analysis, you will deliver robust, flexible, and sustainable tactical technology solutions for the complex portfolio of physical and contractual assets in the Australian energy landscape. Working closely with Operations and Pricing teams, your role will focus on process improvement, application development, and compliance standards. Key responsibilities: Enhance and automate existing Operations and Pricing systems, models, and business processes Design and develop new Operations and Pricing applications and models based on business requirements Conduct requirements gathering, development, and testing activities for Operations and Pricing systems and models Support Operations and Pricing projects, providing reporting and in-depth analysis of processes Ensure compliance with Origin's IT Directive and other relevant frameworks for operational models and applications Maintain operational systems and tools, prioritizing incidents and enhancements based on criticality and materiality What will you bring? Tertiary qualifications in IT or quantitative disciplines or relevant equivalent experience Strong communication and teamwork skills In-depth knowledge of Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) Proficiency in leveraging the Microsoft technology stack, extensive experience in Microsoft .NET framework application development Advanced SQL skills and experience with multiple databases (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, Amazon redshift, PostgreSQL) and database management environments Experience with cloud platforms like AWS and Azure Strong problem-solving abilities and effective task prioritisation So, why join us?
