Our vision is to create a single integrated network accessible to everyone - No department has a bigger role to play in keeping the Queensland of today moving or in helping build for the future.You will have the opportunity to work and learn from nationally and internationally recognised professionals, while gaining experience in providing specialist advice and services across Queensland on interesting and innovative projects.Some of your key responsibilities will include:- Planning, coordinating, managing, undertaking and reviewing slope risk assessment data collection activities based on Road and Marine Services Guide to Slope Risk Analysis Version 4 (April 2014) in various Districts around the state asrequired.- Carrying out and contributing to geotechnical investigations for infrastructure and slope instability projects in various Districts around the state as required. At times this may include natural disaster and emergent slope instability responses.- Undertaking and providing input to slope remedial works as required- Contributing to the development of TMR polices, technologies and systems for management of slope instability data collection and risk.- Preparation, provision and presentation of clear and concise correspondence, engineering geological advice and technical reports to a range of internal and external stakeholders.The position title and classification will depend on the type of degree that the successful applicant holds. The successful applicant will have the following:Mandatory qualifications and conditions:- Availability to undertake frequent field work in metropolitan and regional areas for limited periods as required.- Class C Australian Drivers Licence.For Senior Engineering Geologist:- A formal Degree in Geology or Engineering Geology from a recognised tertiary institution.For Senior Geotechnical Engineer:- A Washington Accord accredited four-year degree in Engineering or equivalence recognised by Engineers Australia.- Registration as a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ).Desirable qualifications:- Slope risk analysis full accreditation from Transport for NSW or TMR based on Road and Marine Services Guide to Slope Risk Analysis Version 4 (April 2014). The successful applicant must be willing to participate in a 5-day field training course funded by the TMR to attain the prescribed slope risk analysis accreditation at the earliest opportunity should they not already possess this accreditation.- Post graduate qualifications in Geology, Engineering Geology or Geotechnical Engineering.- Proficiency in the use of slope related software such as RocFall, Slope W, RockPlane, and Swedge, or GIS tools.For more information, please refer to the attached Role Description(s) and Applicant Guide.Applications to remain current for 12 months.Job Ad Reference: QLD/564960/24Closing Date: Wednesday, 05 June 2024
