Role Description Build and deploy Linux & Database environments in an AWS cloud setting. Support and maintain client applications running in AWS. Manage in-house servers with Redhat deployments. Administer supported databases. Collaborate with project managers to outline activities and estimates for environment builds. Specific Role Responsibilities Demonstrate strong skills in administering Linux variants, predominantly RHEL/OEL. Show proficiency in administering databases like Progress or PostgreSQL. Excel in scripting languages, with strong skills in at least two (Shell, Python, Perl). Administer AWS resources effectively. Have a basic understanding of Java/JBoss administration. Review and comment on hardware configurations for server purchases. Continuously improve your technical skills. Manage your time efficiently to meet project deadlines, and communicate promptly if timeframes are at risk. Provide input into high-level designs and project planning, suggesting alternative implementations when necessary. Experience Required Essential Tertiary qualifications in IT or Engineering, or comparable industry certification. Strong knowledge of Redhat systems administration. Proficiency in Postgres/Aurora or Progress DBA. Solid networking knowledge. Demonstrated scripting skills (Shell, Python, Perl). Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to work in a team and mentor other administrators/SEs. Flexibility to work A/H, shifts & on-call according to roster (attractive allowances). Advantageous Redhat certifications. AWS experience. Ability to work independently. Strong documentation skills. Leadership capabilities and experience mentoring team members.
