The Statewide Network Operations (SNO) Branch is a newly established branch within the Infrastructure Management and Delivery Division accountable for the roadoperations lifecycle. Our objective is to operate and optimise the road network to safely and efficiently move people and goods. The role:The purpose of the Senior Engineer (Electrical) is the maintenance and operation of all technical systems on the Brisbane Busway Network and within the Nundah Tunnel. The role requires a strong understanding of electrical, mechanical and tunnel safety systems, plus the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues. Some of your responsibilities will include:- Provide extensive technical expertise on Mechanical, Electrical & Intelligent Transport Systems (M&E&ITS) as well as Hydraulic, Ventilation and Fire Life Safety systems specifically related to the road tunnel environment.- Manage projects from conception to completion to achieve agreed deliverables, budget, timeframes, and quality standards.- Procure and manage contracts for the delivery of maintenance, minor works and capital upgrades to engineered systems and assets, ensuring that all works adhere to legal requirements and industry best practices.- Develop and maintain accurate records, documents and drawings relating to the maintenance and operation of engineered systems and assets, and report on system and asset performance, maintenance activities, and compliance with safety regulations.- Keep updated with the latest technology and industry standards for engineered systems and assess and recommend improvements to make systems more efficient, reliable, and safe.- Engage in emergency exercises and simulations evaluating the effectiveness of emergency procedures and performance of emergency systems, ensuring readiness for real-world scenarios.Refer to the attached role description for full details. About you:To thrive in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following:- High level experience in M&E&ITS systems for public transport and road tunnel infrastructure.- Extensive knowledge of Hydraulic, Ventilation and Fire Life Safety systems for road tunnel environments.- Project and contract management skills in supporting and delivering projects for maintenance, minor works and capital upgrades to engineered systems and assets.- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills to articulate complex problems and solutions to a variety of audiences and stakeholders in order to proactively build working relationships and gain commitments to support ideas or take action.- Strong analytical and technical skills to foster continuous improvement in the efficiency of systems and technologies with partners inside and outside the department. Mandatory qualifications and conditions- A criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.- Possession of a degree in electrical engineering from a recognised tertiary institution or equivalent engineering.- Registration as a Registered Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ).- Current holder of Class C driver's license.
