About this part of our organisation: Our Zinc Assets in Australia include multiple & geographically dispersed operations, including underground and open pit mines, processing plants and port facilities. Additionally we have operations across Asia, both North and South American continents and Europe. Mount Isa is home to the majority of our assets in Australia and this role may be either based residentially in Mount Isa or on a FIFO roster from either Brisbane, Townsville or Cairns. About your potential new position: As the Principal - Scheduling Engineer you will be tasked with providing technical leadership to the Scheduling and Midterm Planning Departments to deliver the objective of creating and reporting on short to midterm schedules and plans that are aligned with corporate goals. Some of your responsibilities will be: To ensure your team adhere to the Act and Regulations, and produce safe and compliant plans and schedules. Delivery, development and continuous improvement of budget mine plan. To effectively communicate complex process ideas at all levels. Maintain accountability, delivering operational efficiency, driving accurate and reliable interpretations/decisions, and implementing best practice in both technical and operational planning for the group. Scoping of infrastructure projects and capital estimations. Development of the short & medium-term infrastructure and mining sequence. Optimisation of ventilation in the short and medium term plan. Accountability for safety performance and safety management practices of the medium-term function and responsible for safety leadership across the mine. Reconciliation of production plans to performance. Financial management and performance of the scheduling and medium term planning department. Managing the planning group and establishing a group culture including building employee capability to support strategic objectives. What we expect from you: Ability to build relationships across functions and operations. Tertiary qualified in a Mining related discipline and hold relevant industries training for safety and risk. Approximately 8 Years mining industry experience with significant experience in underground and sub-level open stoping operations. Preference of chartered engineering status through AUSIMM. Extensive experience in mine design and scheduling software preferably Deswik. Experience in leading a team of highly skilled professionals. What's in it for you?
