About the Role A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a skilled Production Engineer to join the Santos team. Reporting to the Team Leader Production Engineering - Cooper Subsurface, core accountabilities of this role include: Maximising well capacity, optimising production and minimising production shortfall well bore to lease edge. Driving improvement opportunities (risk, cost, production and emissions). This is a rostered position - 3 weeks in the Brisbane office, 1 week in the field, followed by 1 week off. Therefore, the successful candidate must be willing to travel and to adhere to the required roster pattern. Key responsibilities: Monitor daily field production to identify production shortfalls and submit recommendations for remedial work and investigatory testing. Day to day optimisation and production enhancement of wells and well sites Well failure analysis and mitigation plans to improve well productivity Monitor production forecasts and feed back to subsurface teams for updates Identify rate enhancement opportunities, economic projects and interventions to maximise well productivity, reduce cost and reduce emissions. Work closely with operations to provide field operational support: Build strong working relationships with field operations team through site visits to Cooper Basin field operations. Assist junior engineers to optimise and troubleshoot well performance issues and understand operating strategies to help develop team competencies. About You This is a dynamic role and will suit candidates with strong communication and relationship management skills, who enjoy dealing with Stakeholders and taking on new challenges. Holding relevant qualifications in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering, the ideal candidate will possess significant work/industry experience in subsurface/ALS production engineering. In addition, you will be experienced in well operations and surveillance, along with well intervention and will also possess a strong understanding of risk assessments and the management of change process.
