Network & Security Engineer Department of Parliamentary Services Ongoing, full time role PoV 5 - $106,534 - $128,897 base salary range We have multiple opportunities for Network & Security Engineers, with experience in Palo Alto and Cisco preferred, to join our Network Security team. About the Role This role offers an opportunity to design, maintain, and secure Parliament's IT infrastructure. You'll troubleshoot complex issues, support cyber security efforts, and manage technology projects. Key responsibilities: Design, install, and maintain secure and resilient network infrastructure. Automate network tasks and analyse data to improve performance and security. Provide advanced technical support and partner with the Service Desk. Assist with cyber security threats and data protection strategies Oversee technology deployments, relocations, and upgrades. About you You will ideally bring proven experience in the design and management of Network & Security technologies such as: Firewalls (Palo Alto, Cisco ASA/FTD, F5) Cisco Nexus switching platform Routing & Switching (including SDN and NFV) Wireless LAN Controllers Cisco Unified Communications (CUCM, Unity) VPN, MFA, Cloud platforms & segmentation Alongside: A strong understanding of relevant security frameworks (e.g., ISM, ASD Essential Eight) is essential. Proven experience in driving customer-focused excellence and applying critical thinking and problem-solving skills to meet client needs. Experience managing IT projects using methodologies like Agile or PRINCE2 is a plus. Demonstrated well-developed written and verbal communication skills, and an ability to communicate across a broad technical and non-technical audience to understand needs and identify appropriate uses of technology to drive business improvements. Tertiary qualification in IT or a related field or equivalent relevant industry experience and certifications. Certifications like CCNP or CCNA Security are desirable but not mandatory.
