It will be a catalyst for 10 years of wider rail transformation across the whole of South East Queensland and it is already playing a key role in how we prepare for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Cross River Rail is a new 10.2km rail line including 5.9km of twin tunnels running under the Brisbane River and CBD. It includes the delivery of four new underground stations, two new above-ground stations, accessibility rebuilds for six stations, the construction of three new stations on the Gold Coast, and the introduction of a new world-class 'ETCS' signalling system. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to work on one of Australia's largest infrastructure projects and to be a part of something that will leave a lasting legacy for generations to come. About the Role The Configuration Engineer supports the configuration management of the system engineering and assurance activities for the Cross River Rail and its related project streams such as ETCS signalling. You will provide expert guidance and advice to internal and external stakeholders on the implementation of best practice procedures and work closely with our contractors and suppliers reviewing their configuration plans and deliverables to ensure standardisation and outcomes that meets project requirements. You will also support change management governance activities to ensure compliance in relation to configuration management processes. Reporting to the Configuration Management Advisor as part of the Systems Engineering and Assurance team, this opportunity is offered as a contract until August 2026 with possible extension. Key Responsibilities: Assist in developing and maintaining Configuration and Change Management plans and processes. Provide guidance and advice on best practices for implementing configuration management methods and procedures across projects. Support the review of suppliers' Configuration Management plans, processes, and resources to ensure compliance with standards and contractual requirements. Conduct reviews of suppliers' Configuration Management deliverables, identify gaps, and recommend improvements. Ensure the suppliers Configuration Management Plan complies with the five functions of Configuration Management. Ensure suppliers establish and control project configuration baselines for each Configuration Item. Monitor suppliers' compliance with Configuration Change Management plans and procedures and identify deficiencies. Participate in Supplier's scheduled Functional Configuration Audits (FCA) and Physical Configuration Audits (PCA). Ensure security configuration management and control of configurations for information systems. Maintain accurate records of product configurations in supplier configuration information management tools. Assist in coordinating and executing Quality Management System (QMS) and Configuration audits. About You: Relevant engineering degree or comparable industry configuration management experience. Demonstrated experience in managing configuration throughout the system lifecycle in safety-critical industries like Rail or Aerospace. Familiarity with ISO standards (ISO 10007, ISO 9001, ISO 9000, etc.) and other relevant industry standards. Strong written and stakeholder engagement skills in an engineering environment. Strong attention to detail with proven analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage conflicting priorities and deliver outcomes within tight deadlines. Configuration Management or information/record management qualifications including lead auditor certification and experience are highly regarding but not essential. Why work with CRRDA?
