Asterisk Engineer — Victoria, Australia

Must have exposure and knowledge of Asterisk Title: Senior Voice Engineer Location: Australia Length:- Permanent About the role: As an Asterisk Engineer you will be responsible for the ongoing design, deployment, configuration, maintenance, management, monitoring, growth forecasting and capacity expansion of voice infrastructure across the network. The focus of this position is to manage and extend several servers and systems that deliver our voice services, and numerous client deployments across both cloud and on-premises. A key application for this role is Asterisk and familiarity with other PBX tools is advantageous. The candidate will have strong knowledge of Asterisk in VoIP and ISP grade SIP services using Asterisk and related technology. You must be able to edit and make changes in Asterisk. Key Responsibilities and Experience: • Must have strong skills in Asterisk configuration, deployment, monitoring, reporting and administration. • Significant experience in SIP protocol (signalling and SDP). • Strong VoIP/SIP protocol troubleshooting and related standards. • Strong Linux administration skills (Debian/-derivs preferred). • Standard networking fundamentals. • Growth forecasting. • Disaster recovery planning and testing. • Prepare documentation and training manuals as required. • Handle and respond to voice related escalations in a timely manner. • Presales solution work for sales team regarding voice related projects. • Ensure that all work is completed in a correct, cost effective and timely manner in alignment with specifications and quality requirements. • Contribute towards the achievement of company’s strategic and operational objectives. • Interact with the development team and stakeholders to advise on voice-related tasks. • Weekly meetings and reports to your line manager. • Experience with AWS desirable, but not required. • Experience with Docker/container technologies desirable, but not required. • Experience with Ansible desirable, but not required. • Experience with OpenSIPS/OpenSER/Kamailio desirable, but not required.
