The Opportunity: CSL has an exciting opportunity available for an Engineering Safety Coordinator to join the Building Operations & Services team and support the CSL R&D facility located at our state-of-the-art facility in Melbourne. Reporting to the Technical Services Lead - Building Operations and Services CSLM, the Engineering Safety Coordinator will provide technical expertise through understanding of and stringent compliance to cGxP practices and safety standards, with a strong understanding of engineering concepts. Your work may involve some indirect supervision of personnel and contractors who provide support and services to the CSL R&D. The Role: Provide engineering compliance oversight and guidance for services and maintenance Leading role in process investigation, change controls, risk and hazard assessments Be the first point of contact for engineering for EHS incident investigations and timely CAPA implementation. Oversee Risk and Hazard management: GEMBA walks, HAZOPs, "Take 5" system to assess risks for ad hoc tasks Own, manage and coordinate permit work and isolation control systems. Manage LOTO practices, Administer and train "Area owners" and "Permit Works Coordinators", review permit close-out, follow up issues with owners Ensure EHS SOPs for Clearance to work, Isolation, Contractor Management, Hot works, Working at heights are relevant. Own & execute engineering task-based risk assessment, noise & confined space risk assessments Act as engineering safety officer ensuring site activities are coherent with site and Australian safety standards, support the creation, review and updating of safety operating instructions and procedures Represent the Engineering group at Environment, Health Safety and Sustainability (EHS) committee meetings across site Ensure high safety standards within the areas of responsibility are taken into account and adhered to as governed by local, state and federal regulations, laws and policies as well as CSL's policies and directives. Skills & Experience Bachelor's degree in Engineering or relevant preferred 5 years' experience implementing Environment, Health Safety and Sustainability compliance and quality management in a manufacturing environment. Technical experience in pharmaceutical or regulated industry may be considered in lieu of an engineering (or relevant) degree. Knowledge and understanding of regulatory/compliance codes for manufacturing and engineering (GMP, GLP, GEP, ISO 9002, OH&S, TGA) is preferred Knowledge of complex engineering services and systems (e.g. WFI, PFS, HVAC) Apply now to join a purpose-driven company committed to protecting public health.
