The Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW) provides reliable, regular and relevant information and statistics on Australia's health and welfare. We are committed to providing high quality, national data and analysis across the health, housing and community services sectors. This covers a wide range of areas, from health and welfare expenditure, hospitals, disease and injury, disability and mental health, to ageing, disadvantaged and vulnerable, populations, homelessness, and Indigenous health and welfare. The AIHW currently has a number of exciting projects and work underway to enhance its ICT environment and capabilities and are seeking an APS6 Network Engineer to join the team. As the Network Engineer you will assist with the management and administration of the AIHW ICT voice and data networks including the Wide Area Network, Local Area Network, Cloud based networking, audio and video related networks. You will also provide support by troubleshooting, planning and designing for network changes while adhering to change management practices. You will be able to learn new technologies quickly and work in a collaborative way. The key duties of the position include Under general direction you will: Work as part of a small team to provide and maintain a high quality, client focused ICT environment and networks. Provide the provision of level 2 and 3 support for the AIHW networks and ICT systems (at the administrator level). Maintain the corporate network and infrastructure, including daily monitoring, troubleshooting and performance analysis. Support and maintain corporate network infrastructure, including associated software, hardware, back-up and recovery services. Maintain clear and up-to-date network diagrams and ICT system, documentation, and procedures. Assist with ICT projects, support and upgrades as required. Working with Security Team, maintain Security Networking posture. To succeed in this role you will be a motivated go-getter who is able to work in a fast-paced environment, effectively manage their priorities and communicate with a wide range of stakeholders.
