TMR's Engineering & Technology Branch (E&T) are looking for a high-performing engineer with experience in active transport infrastructure to lead our Vulnerable Road User team. In the role of Principal Engineer (Active Transport), you will have the opportunity to work with and learn from nationally and internationally recognised professionals within E&T. You will lead a team of technical experts to undertake research, develop and maintain technical guidance, deliver technical training, and liaise with internal and external stakeholders to support, encourage and promote walking and cycling across Queensland. Some of your responsibilities will include: Providing expert advice to internal and external customers on projects at various stages of development and delivery with a focus on provision for people walking and cycling; Contributing to the development and implementation of active transport standards and guidelines for improving the infrastructure and safety of the transport network for all road users, with a focus on providing for people walking and cycling; Representing the Department on selected national, state and local government committees, and establish and maintain effective professional relationships and lines of communication with government and other agencies involved in active transport engineering practices both within and outside of Queensland; Managing and supporting the development and delivery of a program of training that promotes and encourages safer active transport use; Development and management of, and reporting on the Vulnerable Road User team work program, including direct supervision of technical staff. Applicants must possess a four-year, Washington Accord accredited, Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or equivalent and registration as a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ).
