See yourself in our team The Chief Data and Analytics Office (CDAO) is in place to realise a data-driven organisation for Commonwealth Bank Group. We do this by solving complex problems around data for the business and activating data for strategic and sustained competitive advantage to enhance the financial wellbeing of our customers in a safe, sound and secure way. We're responsible for CommBank's key analytics capabilities and work to create world-leading capabilities for analytics, information management and decisioning. As a Staff Engineer, you will be part of the team that manages the Big Data platform. We are committed to providing world class compute and storage capabilities for analytics, information management and decisioning. We support our people with the flexibility to balance where work is done with at least half your time each month connecting in office. We are interested in hearing from people who: Provide strategic guidance and oversee medium complexity system engineering initiatives and solutions. Are highly experienced in working with BigData tooling and Cloud technologies (as mentioned in the required Tech skills below) Are happy working as an individual contributor that pushes our BigData and upcoming Cloud platforms forward, delivering increasing levels of self-service, automation and reduced operational risk Have experience in implementation of data platforms at Enterprise level Develop strategic programs of work, including proof of concept developments. Provide mentoring and technical assistance to other engineers. Are confident in using your expertise to solve platform issues, improve ways of working, enhance and automate existing platform. Tech skills We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don't expect you to know them all but having significant experience and exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team.
