666 Month Federal Government Contract 0.4 FTE position (2 days a week) ACT, Symonston, Remote considered No clearance required only Australian Citizenship Our Federal Government Client operates the Ginan/GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) data analysis centre that delivers a real-time positioning correction service and additional positioning products through open-source software, to enable precise point positioning. They require a part time resource to assist with the following: Progress the development of software (v4.0 and beyond). Update and create architecture and design documentation where required. Implement high quality source code, including documenting code through comments and testing. Plan and implement the transition of knowledge and source code structures to other team engineers. Document source code structures to assist with transition into service activities. To be eligible for the position you must have: Experience in open source software development, running within an Agile framework and a diverse team. Evidence of ability to provide written reports and documentation relating to software architecture and design. Ability to provide knowledge transfer activities: - Appropriate documentation of software developments made under this work order (new features, changes etc.) - Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other members of the team (e.g. in software development best practice), including other software engineers, GNSS scientists and engineers). Experience and awareness of Kalman Filter algorithms and Global Navigation Satellite Systems analysis methodologies.
