Maritime Cross-Platform SPO (MCPSPO) Maritime Cross-Platform SPO (MCPSPO) delivers integrated cross-class sustainment services, expert advice and quality asset management through CN49 Cross-Platform Items of Supply for Maritime Capability, and CN61 Navy Sea Boat Capability Product Schedules. MCPSPO undertakes sophisticated requirements determination, engineering support, and supplier engagement, to buy and repair agreed inventory baseline items to meet predicted customer preparedness requirements. The Opportunity: The Platform and Auxiliary Systems Engineering Manager is answerable to the MCPSPO Engineering Manager for planning and overseeing day-to-day engineering activities related to Platform and Auxiliary Systems team. The Platform and Auxiliary Systems Engineering Manager will independently apply Systems Engineering techniques in the context of Navy Maritime Assets, make decisions on engineering design and maintenance, conduct engineering and logistics activities, perform requirements setting, conduct design review and undertake verification and validation activities. Responsibilities: - Provide leadership and guidance to the Platform and Auxiliary team, client organization and other stakeholders. - Execute day-to-day engineering and logistics activities in accordance with the MCPSPO Engineering Management System (EMS); - Liaise closely with other delivery teams within MCPSPO responsible with industry engagement and contract management for MCPSPO managed platform and auxiliary systems. - Raise and progress configuration changes and deviation to the product baseline for MCPSPO managed platform and auxiliary systems. - Undertake verification and validation activities as part of engineering change management activities. - Review and manage requirements and scope definitions for MCPSPO managed platform and auxiliary systems. - Develop and review design packages in preparation for Design Acceptance Representative review and acceptance. - Perform investigations into failures or faults and resolve problems or provide recommendations toward resolution. - Develop project schedules and seek to resolve conflicting project priorities to achieve delivery. - Take ownership or participate in System Reviews and represent the Platform & Auxiliary team at Engineering Review and Configuration Control Boards. - Provide input and participate in tender development, tender evaluation and contract negotiations for MCPSPO managed platform and auxiliary systems. As the ideal candidate you will bring: Essential: - Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical, Mechatronics, or similar) - Defence experience (preferably in Maritime) - Experience in platform and auxiliary systems - Highly developed organizational and analytical skills - Demonstrated abilities to develop positive working relationships through high level communications skills Desirable: - Experience with Configuration Management support system applications - Configuration Management Tool (CMT), NAVALLOW and/or MILIS. - Professional association (Chartered Engineer) All candidates will be required to hold and maintain an active Baseline Defence Security Clearance.
