We're looking for a Senior Civil Engineer and Team Leader to join our Northern NSW Roads, Civil and Transport Planning team. Join our team of globally connected specialists to help solve complex transport challenges and experience groundbreaking projects from idea to delivery, and beyond. Working closely with and under direction of the Business Group Leader, the role will manage the day-to-day functioning of the team (as team leader) and leading project teams and designs to ensure successful outcomes on specific jobs (as Senior Civil Engineer). Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in: Provide day to day supervision, mentoring and coaching to the team in line with GHD's core values and strategy Assist the Business Group Leader to secure, schedule and manage workload Mentor and direct team members (civil engineers & technical staff) to enable professional growth of individuals, allowing them to meet their goals. Lead key proposals and assist with resource allocation to projects Prepare proposals under guidance of the Project Director Maintain and promote a safe working environment and wellbeing culture within the team in line with HSE policies and guidelines. Understand client project objectives and success factors, project scope and key decision makers, influencers and stakeholders involved in project Lead multi-disciplinary project teams to deliver specific project outcomes on time and to budget. What you will bring to the team Minimum Bachelor degree qualifications in Civil Engineering Typically at least 5 to 15 years post-graduate experience in civil engineering design (roads, stormwater and/or urban development) Previous experience or readiness to manage a small team (typically 5 to 12 team members). Ability to coach, support and direct team members to ensure effective client outcomes. Understanding and ability to promote and implement GHD's Quality and HSE frameworks. Demonstrated ability to maintain individual chargeable time and target utilisation for the group. Proven project management and leadership experience, with a strong knowledge of, or ability to learn, GHD's standards around the project lifecycle (Opportunity Assessment through to Delivery).
