Senior Software Engineer (API Developer, .NET 8, Python, AWS) You are passionate about modernising the HR ecosystem through strategic and secure use of microservices, APIs and AWS We are undergoing one of Australia's largest digital transformations and establishing a dedicated cloud engineering function within HR Together we will build tomorrow's bank today, using world-leading technology and innovation Do work that matters We are in the middle of rolling out an updated tech strategy that has cloud engineering and microservices at its centre. We are looking for an experienced and hands on API Developer to work within the HR domain and in partnership with our Cloud Architects and Engineers. You will be well suited for this role if you have a strong background in software engineering with .NET, Python (Lambda) and AWS infrastructure & services where you will design, develop and manage our HR API Catalogue as we embark on de-coupling HR services, developing data pipelines and unlocking technology innovation. Prior experience working in a DevSecOps environment and expertise using CI/CD tooling means you will hit the ground running. See yourself in our team The HR Technology function works in an Agile methodology with our HR business to plan, prioritise and deliver on high value HR & technology objectives with key results that can be experienced by all of our employees. You will join a large cloud engineering cohort that are all aligned on executing the technology strategy within their respective domain areas. The role will form part of the HR Technology Cloud Engineering Chapter and work alongside AWS Engineers and Cloud Architects. We are establishing a greenfield HR AWS landscape as we replatform and refactor from Monolithic designs to enable a microservices approach to HR platform engineering where we support and partner with HR Product Owners to design, develop and deliver APIs that underpin our ability to deliver enhanced desktop, mobile, data, analytics and AI solutions. We're interested in hearing from people who Are passionate about cloud engineering and are certified developers that can hit the ground running with cloud infrastructure, services and workloads Are tech delivery experts able to successfully establish an engineering culture with DevSecOps delivery across our platforms and pipelines. Can create sustainable tech ecosystems through driving exceptional design, refactoring and technical debt elimination - all whilst ensuring best practices and tooling to improve governance and controls Have a demonstrable understanding of enterprise data standards, application modernisation and reference architecture Tech Skills We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don't expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team: Experience using .NET 8 for API development Experience developing serverless workloads using Lambda (Python) Cloud Experience on AWS Experience with general CI/CD tools and pipeline scripts.
