Civil Engineer — Craigieburn, Hume Area

As a Civil Engineer at Gulati Homes , you will play a crucial role in supporting our operations and ensuring the successful delivery of various construction projects. Your duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Operating project where required and within competency Supporting the division’s operations and general laboring Undertaking works with required safety, environmental, and quality requirements Participating in and promoting a safe and healthy working environment Preparation of Specification and Contract Documentation ; Tendering and tender analysis ; Assisting with the preparation of evaluation and approval reports including Council reports Planning for Project delivery ;Contractor management and site supervision ensuring relevant quality and standard are adhered to including daily reporting of scope of works being undertaken ;Environmental management of worksites Contractors risk management and Occupational Health and Safety management • Control Project Budget Ensuring self and others' safety at all time Following reasonable instructions/requests by management Determining construction methods, materials, and quality standards, and drafting and interpreting specifications, drawings, plans, construction methods, and procedures Organising and directing site labour and the delivery of construction materials, plant, and equipment, and establishing detailed programs for the coordination of site activities Obtaining soil and rock samples at different depths across sites and testing samples to determine strength, compressibility, and other factors that affect the behaviour of soil and rock when a structure is imposed, and determining the safe loading for the soil Studying architectural and engineering drawings and specifications to estimate total costs, and preparing detailed cost plans and estimates as tools to assist in budgetary control Monitoring changes to designs, assessing effects on cost, and measuring, valuing, and negotiating variations to designs Analysing structural systems for both static and dynamic loads Designing structures to ensure they do not collapse, bend, twist, or vibrate in undesirable ways Assessing present and future travel flow patterns taking into account population increase and needs change Designing the physical aspects of transportation systems such as highways, railroads, urban transit, air transportation, logistical supply systems, and their terminals Qualifications: A degree in Civil Engineering or a related field Minimum 2 years work experience Proven experience in civil engineering and construction Strong understanding of safety, environmental, and quality standards Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Strong communication and organizational skills Please ensure you attached your CV, attach a separate cover letter (no more than one page) addressing why you would be perfect for this role and what you would be hoping to get out of it.
