It also includes consulting with external and internal specialist groups, engineering consultants, contractors and industry suppliers on issues affecting pavement materials, design, construction practices, products and technology. Providing reliable engineering and technical advice about pavement material selection, pavement assessment/design and pavement construction to ensure technical and quality standards are met and to maintain timeliness in project delivery. You will also be responsible for maintaining your competency in these areas by understanding and applying local, national and international best practice in practice. Preparing technical papers/reports about pavement assessment/design and construction practices and making presentations at workshops and/or conferences. Assessing mix design submissions for plant-mixed cementitiously stabilised pavement materials and registering complying mixes. Supporting the Principal Engineer (Pavements and Materials Development) and working as part of a team to facilitate the effective and efficient operations of E&T and the department. Applies specialist knowledge and skills: Knowledge in pavements and materials engineering (and related technologies). Applies knowledge of engineering and pavement and material selection/design principles. Applies knowledge, with guidance, to pavement material selection, specifications and pavement assessments/designs. Mandatory qualifications and conditions A four-year Washington Accord accredited, Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) degree - or equivalent which is assessed and accepted by Engineers Australia. Current holder of a C-Class Queensland driver's licence. Criminal history screening will be conducted on the recommended person for the role. Desirable requirements: Experience in: pavement design, including with pavement design software, and material selection development or use of pavement materials specifications pavement construction.
