The Opportunity Thiess are seeking an Asset Engineer to join our Thiess Western Region Maintenance hub located in Hazelmere. The Maintenance Hub is designed to support repairs and refurbish a variety of Mining Equipment and Components within Thiess and subsidiary internal Asset refurbishment requirements as well as external key Tier 1 mining customers. About The Role As an Asset Engineer you will provide engineering support and technical advice to the Component Rebuild Centre teams and Operating Sites to assist in optimising quality, compliance to all internal and external requirements and developing innovative advances in technology and processes aimed at component rebuilds. Additionally, you will: Provide an engineering support function to all operational sites and facilitate best practice across the various operations. Work with the operational sites and within the reliability framework, identify practical, cost effective solutions to reliability issues. Partner with the operational sites to successfully implement any improvement projects ensuring that the sites maintain ownership of the projects. Ensure that mechanical and electrical statutory requirements, including regulated inspections of plant and equipment, are incorporated into JDE. Engage relevant stakeholders and develop plans for the implementation into maintenance operations of changes and improvements to asset management systems, procedures or technologies. Work with internal and external stakeholders to identify technical improvements to Australian Mining asset strategies. Contribute to ensuring that the Asset Management Systems are consistent with industry leading best practice and are implemented to minimise duplication. Work with relevant planners and engineers on site to ensure that any projects are completed with minimal impact to site operations; Contribute engineering and technical advice with respect to the planning of short and long-term maintenance processes; About You To be successful for this role you will have; Tertiary engineering degree Experience in maintenance operations, preferably with heavy mining equipment Excellent technical knowledge of mining assets, including mobile equipment and processing plants; Good knowledge of legislative requirements as they apply to plant and equipment in a mining environment, across Australian jurisdictions; Good knowledge of national standards as they apply to asset management; Proficient in MS Office Familiar with Maintenance Management Systems (JDE advantageous) Ability to work as part of multidisciplinary team and effectively communicate between AMHO and operational sites Promote, encourage and foster the safely culture within Thiess What Thiess Can Do for You Help to grow your career, offering diverse and varied opportunities for advancement Flexible working arrangements World-class health & wellbeing programs Salary sacrifice options A range of corporate discounts, including health insurance (Medibank), travel & retail products Referral bonus program About Us At Thiess, we partner with our clients to deliver excellence in open cut and underground mining in Australia, Asia and the Americas.
