Within QGCDG is the Digital Customer (Smart Service Queensland) team with its vision of 'better customer experiences for Queenslanders'. As part of Digital Customer (Smart Service Queensland) senior leadership team, the Executive Director, Digital Engineering leads a team that designs, builds and operates critical customer facing digital products, platform, seamless and user-centric digital services on behalf of the Queensland Government. To be successful in this role, you will have the ability to assume accountability for the Queensland Government's digital presence and touchpoints with citizens, which includes online authenticated services through the 'qld.gov.au' domain and voice, chat, and mobile platforms. This will involve leading and developing a team of specialist platform developers. You will also manage core systems that support digital service delivery through partnerships with internal government platform teams, partner agencies across government and external service providers, and plan for future workforce and service delivery needs. This will require a commercial mindset combined with a technical delivery background, ideally in DevOps. Demonstrated expertise in building out a digital engineering team or function will be highly regarded, as will proven leadership experience and a proficiency in project and design management methodologies. Highly developed stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to build strong relationships, influence and work alongside internal stakeholders is critical, as is the ability to navigate complex environments. This is a fantastic opportunity for a collaborative customer focused leader who has a talent of translating the technical into reality and bringing teams and individuals with various levels of digital experience and maturity along on the journey.
