We are seeking for a Graduate Data Network Engineer to join our Technology Core team in Melbourne OR Sydney. Reporting to the Core Networks Engineering Manager , this role will be responsible for supporting and ensuring delivery of the functionality and support of the Symbio's data networks. A Graduate Data Network Engineer will work with peers in the Data Networks Team and other key stakeholders for the relevant platforms. What you'll do as a Graduate Data Network Engineer: Engaging and effectively communicating with internal stakeholders and customers to gather requirements and provide updates on projects and issues. Ensure systems are designed and implemented to enable high availability. Ensure maintenance, upgrades and new implementations are carried out with minimal impact on business and customer operations. Contribute to identifying and resolving technical disputes/impediments. Responsible for the operation of the company's Networks, including the delivery of all network services (Data, and other hosted services and facilities) Configuration, operations, capacity, and integration of all network infrastructure to provide the highest levels of functionality and service. Qualifications What you'll need to succeed: A recently completed degree in Computer Science or Engineering related field. Knowledge in Network Automation and DevOps (Ansible and CI/CD pipelines) Understanding of BGP protocol and good understanding of layer 3 IP routing Basic understanding of how voice IP protocols and traffic works. Knowledge of MPLS, OSPF, BGP protocol with an understanding of layer 3 IP routing Familiar with Layer 2 and 3 switching, spanning tree protocol. Some knowledge with Juniper, Arista, & Cisco configuration Demonstrated understanding of information processing principles and practices Strong verbal and written communication skills Team player - good interpersonal skills Ability to think outside of the box, and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills What's it like to work here?
