About the role: Our clients business is booming, with plenty of work in the pipeline - they are looking for a Site Engineer to work within their civil construction division based in Christchurch. Lead and motivate the site team to deliver quality service on key projects in the Canterbury region. Provide day-to-day direction to teams carrying out civil construction projects. Utilize practical hands-on experience in areas such as earthworks, drainage, and land development to ensure project success. Ensure project technical designs and plans are correctly followed, offering technical advice as needed. Plan and schedule workloads, facilitate Toolbox Talks, and oversee site quality and safety. Manage resources, including procurement and contractor management, to meet contractual specifications and management plans. Monitor financial aspects of projects, including productivity targets and contractor management. Play a crucial role in large-scale earthwork projects that positively impact the environment and the city. Emphasize team and cultural fit alongside technical ability and experience. Adapt and evolve with an agile and flexible team to consistently deliver the best outcomes for clients. What You'll Bring An industry qualification in civil construction, roading or earthworks (NZQA equivalent preferred) 3 years practical site experience within NZ construction or civil infrastructure A Class 2 licence with W T R endorsements preferred Sound knowledge and operational experience with earthmoving machinery and associated small plant Strong leadership and influencing skills that build a positive work environment Ability to assess conflicting priorities and determine the most cost-effective solution As part of our clients commitment to your success, they will provide all the necessary tools for the role, including a mobile phone, laptop, and a company vehicle.
